Evap canister question

I'm guessing this purge hose goes to the throttle body nipple that is plugged off. Without it being connected what are the side effects? I know the one on the throttle body nipple sucks in. I found this hanging. The wiring diagram mentions a ' TTV' not sure what that is? It says the canister purge>TTV> throttle body?

Update* I found that the TTV hose is disconnected and the nipple for the purge is broken on it. It looks pretty hard to remove it as it's a sensor with threads on it.

TVV = Thermal Vacuum Valve(aka BVSV[Bimetal Vacuum Switching Valve] or TVSV[Thermostatic Vacuum Switching Valve])

What happens if it fails? I heard it can cause knock or detonation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txQOAMd-OB4 Heres a video on it.

If the nipple(Purge Port) that's on the TB is plugged/blocked off, then nothing.

Other than that the only thing that could ever happen would be a vacuum leak(if something was broken or cracked). If it clogged it wouldn't do anything. And if it was stuck open(feeding fuel vapors from the charcoal canister to the TB at all times) it probably wouldn't do much except make the engine run a tad rich when cold, or it might cause you to fail an emissions test. I can't see how it could possibly do anything else. Knocking or detonation surely wouldn't be caused by a malfunctioning EVAP system.

FYI, that video isn't specific enough to the actual system in question here. It's talking mostly about inspecting and/or replacing a TVS(aka TVV/TVSV/BVSV) anyway. And not which particular system would cause which particular symptom mentioned if the TVS for it failed. So isn't so relevant in terms of diagnosing conditions caused by the TVV for the EVAP failing. And since there's only one TVV on this engine(the one for the EVAP), it's not so relevant to this topic of discussion really(the other the emissions systems, PAIR & EGR, have electronically actuated VSVs instead).
