Engine swap electrical question??

Ok guy's I'm looking for a Vortec 4.3 L for my 94 toy runner cause I'm getting ready to do a swing. I have been doing some research and my question is what kinda of wiring harness did you guy's that have done this use? I mean did you fab your own harness? or just use after market gauges and ditch the OEM electrical stuff all together? I'm pretty sure the ECU of the Vortec engine will not connect to the Toyota Harness!!! Any help would be great thanks Guys!!!
