Engine Stuttering 22RE 5spd
Okay guys, I have a 87 4Runner DLX with the 22RE motor that has decided to start something a little funny the other day. While driving under constant load (i.e. maintaining speed) the engine starts to stutter like its misfiring. If I let off the gas to coast or give more gas to accelerate, it stops. It doesn't matter which gear I'm in nor does it matter what speed I'm trying to maintain. Also, in conjunction with this, I also have a new found lack of power below 3000RPM. While trying to accelerate it is very sluggish until 3000 and then literally will kick my head back once 3000+ RPM are obtained. I have already replaced the distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires, and the fuel filter to no avail. I checked all of my vacuum hoses and with the exception of one they all seem to be hooked to something. There was one that had fallen off the bottom of a small round object bolted to the cylinder head cover on the passengers side above the #4 cylinder. I replaced that one to its rightful place and it seemed to help but said issues are still present. Any ideas on what I could be missing??

my truck does the same thing when it's cold - an '86 SR5. Once it's warmed up, though, it doesn't have the kickback. I'll be watching this post for help, so thanks!!!
