Engine "rebuild" 22RE
my 1987 timing chain broke so I guess it's time to pull the engine and have it rebult..
I already had a broken exhaust stud that I need removed so I guess it must be meant to be..
I am currently looking for a place in so.cal to rebuild the engine.
I found two places for about 999-1050$, that will use my engine for the rebuild.
*any recommendations in SO.CAL?
My main question is, what should I be expecting for a "rebuild" ..?
I doubt the replacement parts are gunna be OEM; but
*are there certain parts that I should make sure ARE OEM; maybe the studs, tensioner etc?
I want to get it match ported, polished, and balanced.
*but what should I expect from this shop?
freeze plugs, rings, pistons, timing chain set, cover.. and what?
also what should I do while the block is pulled?
I'm definitely gunna do the clutch, probably gunna go OEM..?
& maybe upgraded injectors to match the supra AFM that I have in.
*so please let me know about any mods that might be convient at this time.
side note: My older friend that's helping me out is insisting on some ARP bolt set, I'm wondering if it's essential or not; seems pretty expensive?
--this post might or might not be in the right place so sorry in advance.
thank you!

Hi city slicker, it looks like you didn't get an answer... I recently posted something similar in the newbie forum as my engine is currently being rebuilt. Hopefully your truck is back on the road by now and this is all moot.
