What would it ta to do a complete engine overhaul on a 3.0. mainly to replace head gaskets, rear main, rings and seals. i need to know what kind of tools and if it is do-able. or if it would be better to take it somewhere????

Has the headgasket recall been done on your 3VZE yet? The dealership will basically rebuild your engine for free if the recall is still available. Or, you could just swap for a 5ZE! LOL!

I am doing a rebuild on my 95 3.0. it is not that big a deal. there only "special" tool is a 14 mm torx for the head bolts. there is allot of time and money involved but it is "do-able" mine is sitting at 325.00 for machine work 400 for the engine kit. 200 for a new crank and what ever the new rods are going to cost. mine was ran out of oil and stacked the #6 bearing that is the reason for the new rods and crank. how ever if I had it to do over again I would swap in a 22re and built it for more power.

its really a very simple rebuild, just take alot of pics of your wiring and vacuum hoses, and take your time, the rebuild isnt that expensive if you do it right, there are online manuals as a sticky and all you need is there.....im waiting for my parts and i'll put mine back together again

It would be better to swap it out 3.4 is a quick easy swap if you can get your hands on one. As for rebuilding the motor its cake. Get some manuals and start tearing into it
