Engine Hesitates and chokes in low rpms
My name is William , i recently purchased a 1994 Toyota pickup 4X4 4 cylinder 5 speed with 114k , This is my first toyota pickup , before i had 2 4runners when i was younger , I'm starting to learn about toyotas , but i'm mechanically inclined , i had hondas too , So PLEASE bear with me for my ignorance. Here are the symptoms:
- When the truck is cold , it idles fine , no hesitation whatsoever .
- When it warms up , the truck has a very low idle, it has turn off once.
It struggles to gain speed , but once it goes past a certain point , it seems as if it had turbo in it , lol.
Maintenance done:
New wires , plugs , fuel filter , rotor and cap , pcv valve , air filter.
I tried cleaning the EGR valve after reading some of the other posts , but no favorable result .
Please if you have any suggestion about part REPLACEMENT or troubleshooting , point out where it's located , Thank you!

It sounds as if it could be you're Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). But usually that would cause a check engine lite. Follow the repair manual and check to see if there are any check engine codes stored.

I decided to block off the egr and it helped a little , i happen to mention this to a mechanic that i know and he said exactly the same thing , he unplugged the TPS sensor and now the car has power thru the power band , now my idle is very low but i'll be replacing the tps Soon , thanx for the suggestion.
