Engine Code 51 Need help from the experts.
Ok I'll try to make this as short winded as possible....
Put a rebuilt 22re in a truck that has been sitting for a few years.
Used anothe fuel injection manifold up and lower that I had laying around b/c it was just pulled off a good running truck.
The motor runs but its not running right. Seems to run better when it first starts up and the cold start injector is dumping more fuel.
It's got to be something with the tps/ fuel deliver because it runs good ok in a certain throttle range but not others.
I've tried a new tps and adjusted it properly and still get code 51 and sometimes 52.
I have continuity from all prongs on the connector to the ecu.
No matter what I've tried I can't get the truck to idle down when I short the
T and E1 terminals.
So I can't set the timing right. Its currenlty advance quite a bit to get it to run better. This along with the 51 code is causing it to run lean.
I've worked on this for days swapping parts and still can't get it to run right.
I've gone thru all the troubleshooting test in the FSM and everything checks out.
I've even swapped out throttle bodies and still get the same thing.
Swapped out ecu's also with same result.
Double check and the cam/distributor timng is correct.
Is there anything else on the tps circuit that can cause the code 51 and not allow the idle drop when the terminals are shorted? I saw the ac circuit can effect it but I don't feel thats it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have plenty of parts laying around so any I can pretty much swap out any part that I need to.
oh and I've searched extensively and haven't found the solution in other threads
