Need help with grounding / electrical issue.

1. When my signals are on the battery voltage bounces back and forth about 1/4 inch. Ground wire maybe?

2. If yes to ground wire. Where are they located on a 91 xcab 4x4 with a V6.

3. Could there be another problem? If so, what is the electrical guru's fool proof step by step?

Thanks in advance. Hoping to get on this tomorrow.

ok there is one on the front driver side on the side of timing cover hard to see cause it's kinda behind water pump. another on the pass side bottom front of block coming out of wiring harness. one on the intake and one in back of head to the fire wall.. good luck. might just be a bad alt or starting to go maybe..

It's a crappy, not so accurate gauge. If you want a real gauge, get a real voltage gauge. That, the oil pressure, and the coolant temp gauges are good for a rough ballpark estimate, but you can't rely on them. Most OEM Gauges are that way... the boost gauge on ( any of my eclipses) registered at about 11-12psi stock. Well, With my autometer the "oem" 11-12psi was actually more like 9-10psi. When I started turning the boost up... the oem gauge didn't change. Even when I was running 27+psi in my first eclipse, it still said in the range of 11-12psi.

Don't trust the stock gauges too much. If you wanna know for sure, pick up an autometer for $30 and compare. I'd bet money you see significant differences.

Hook up a good Multimeter to the battery watch that most of these stock gauges tell you more or less that the alternator is working .

Just about all my toyotas have done this it is something else if the head lights dim when the turn signals flash.

It also doesn`t hurt to upgrade your ground cables

What is the best way to upgrade the grounds? what gauge wire etc? or is there a 'kit' or something.
