Electrical Problem...

So I've got an 89 pickup. I've figured out that the dash lights and driving lights run on the same circuit. It runs on a 15 amp fuse that is under the side kick panel and i've replaced the fuse but it'll pop after about 5 minutes of driving. The turn signals still work, and so do the brake lights, just not the running lights. Its a 21 year old truck, so im not sure if i should just start inspecting miles of wire or if there is a trick to this one. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

-Miles

P.S. Thanks rocket : )

you might check the tail light wiring .my truck would pop the fuse when it rained because the license plate light would short to the frame. the wiring in the back is more open to damage, so you might start there.

Check your dimmer switch. It could be shorting out.

I'm having the same problem with mine. Going to tape all the connectors in the rear. I also have some janky trailer connector that I didn't install.. That may be shorting them as well I'm sure.

taped up the plate light wire connectors and think I should be okay. 1 of the wires was resting on the bumper mount.. I'm thinking that was the problem all a lot but we shall see.
