EGR valve replaced, now idling and running rough

Replaced the EGR valve on a 1994 truck last night. Drove it today. It ran well at first and had more power. Now it is idling higher and is running rough at idle and while driving. Replaced the vacuum line and that didn't make a difference. Disconnected the battery, and it sounded better for a couple minutes at idle and then went back to sounding like heck. HELP

Thank you,

Feel a bit like a twit. Found another cracked vacuum line. Running good again. Likely didn't need to replace the EGR after all. Two shops told me it needed a new one, as part of the running battle with the check engine idiot light.
