EGR removal

oook, so ive searched and searched only to end up with egr removal on 22RE's or people who got talked into keeping it, or really no info at all, but the P.O put block off plates on the exhaust manifold, so i went ahead and ordered the egr block off kit from LCE got those on and i removed all the egr stuff including the metal vac lines, im pretty sure i got the vac lines messed up and it idles reallly high like 1500 2000 range, moved some stuff around got it to idle down to 1000, does anyone have any pics of their vac lines set up without the EGR stuff??? i went by kyle22R diagram for an 83 canada model and thats what got it idled high....so im lost, help me yotatechers

edit: i figured it out scroll to bottom...

what block off plates on the exhaust manifold from the PO?
EGR doesn't go through the exhaust manifold.
Got pics?

PAIR (Pulsed Air-Injection/Reaction) is completely separate from EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation).

PAIR brings fresh air from the air filter and injects it into the exhaust stream at the exhaust ports on the manifold.

EGR takes exhaust gasses, routes them internally, through the head, and injects them in to the intake manifold.

got pics?

on the 22re, all you have to do to bypass EGR is block the passage from the EGR valve to the back of the intake manifold... and you can do that with a little piece cut out of a soda can.
Doing that may cause higher cylinder head and exhaust temps on longer, constant speed trips, which may in turn cause lean mixture codes to be thrown even on non-cali vehicles.

Some vehicles might throw a CEL for EGR temp (mainly California models), though.

Lol crude, but it works. Glad u got that figured out, gets me off the hook for following my lines for yah.

As long as it works. Does this do anything for yah performance wise? I don't really see how it would, but I'm just curious.
