egr plate gasket
Hello all,
Just a quick question. replacing my head gasket and before i can put the head on I need to put on the EGR plate which was removed when the head was machined. the gasket set the machine shop sold me is all good except the EGR plate gasket is off. the lower channel hole is cut wrong - on all their gasket sets they have - and it sits below the deck of the head - which defeats the purpose of the gasket. I can only assume this is a necessary component in order to maintain back pressure. can anyone recommend or point me in the right direction to getting just this gasket? Ive asked auto parts shops around here (Vancouver Canada) and no one can solve the problem - yet. I will just use high-temp silicone if it comes to that - that is what the guys at LC Engineering recommended.
87 22r pickup. 4 cylinder.
thanks for any help, Luc.

RTV? Previous owner used it on mine, and when I did the head I used a paper one, but have since switched back to RTV since the paper gasket ripped when I was cleaning the EGR. Haven't had any problems or codes for a week now.

follow up on this thread.
The machine shop ordered another couple sets of gaskets and found on that fit my egr system. it was from the previous gen 22r. so when someone rebuilt my engine long before i bought it, it was rebuilt with an older head..
rob at alec's automotive (vancouver bc) went out of his way to help me out, i was really impressed. they also did a great job machining the head and valves.
truck runs fantastic now... 1000kms on it and counting.
