EGR Deleted, heater core hose??

Hello everyone, I just recently got a 89 pickup 22re 4x4 (of course). The previous owner was kind enough to tear it apart and screw all kinds of stuff up in the process. So I got it pretty cheap. I rebuilt the engine, it was missing half the EGR equipment so I went on and capped it all. Now, I have just dropped the new engine in and one of my final problems is the hose going into the heater core. I can't seem to figure out where it goes. I'm not seeing any open tubes, or anything to route it to. Am I missing something simple here or what? Name: Untitled-2.jpg

I just went and looked at my truck and it has a hose that runs down to a metal tube just like the other hose coming out of the firewall. Looks like your is missing.

Edit: a pic is worth a thousand words

Hmm, it looks as if your second hose (one to the right) is going where I have my first hose (one to the left). So I might have that switched, but the hose fit perfectly so I figured it had to go there. You should have an in and out to the heater core, where does the other hose go? See, the blue line goes to that metal tube, but the green hose goes to a mysterious magical land of unknowing

Yours is correct. The hose you have with the blue line is just not in my pic. I have a non factory hose there.

Here's what mine looks like.

Is it the wrong valve? One for a 4 runner with rear heater?

Thanks! Yes it looks like it is 87248A (PIPE, HEATER WATER INLET) But where the hell does that go to? It looks as if it snakes around to the intake, but I am not seeing where it would go into?

It connects to the underside of the lower intake plenum about in the middle.

Ok, so with a help from google and SuperBleeder's photo, I found this. And this makes me want to yell and scream a lot of really bad words. I luckily do have this tube... but it is not there, it was mixed in with a pile of other parts that i over looked... so here is my issue... how big of a bitch is it to install that with the engine fully assembled and in the truck? Is this a situation where i am going to have to take the upper intake manifold off, or can i get my girlfriend with her little hands to get in there?

If the oil filter was pulled, could you come from underneath with a long extension assuming yours is set-up the same as pic in post 10?

Just snaking the pipe in there looks to be a chore.
Good luck.

Good idea! Unless the front axle assembly is in the way... I will try that first, if it fails, I guess i have to take the upper intake manifold off... weak
