Sounds like a copy of my truck back in the day! Want to make sure that of course it's been well maintained like any vehicle.
Special things though:
Miles on motor, & if a headgasket has been done on it, last timing belt / water pump / thermostat.
How does the transmission shift, these trucks came with a rubber shift bushing from the factory that tends to wear around this time in its life (if not earlier due to abuse)...an easy 15 minute fix though and Marlin has you covered on good replacement parts.
Has the steering relay rod SST been done?
Honestly just do a good walk around and drive and make sure it looks and feels solid (no leaks, wobbles, vibrations, tracking problems etc.) and these trucks go forever. Mine lived the first 90% of it's life on the road and it went to 390,000 miles before I pulled the motor to do a rebuild and that was only precautionary (had low compression in 1 cyl. but not bad enough to be a real problem yet) and wanted to try to get a little more power before I started to modify the rest (headers, heads port and polished, bigger valves etc). Still factory transmission, transfer case after 415,000 mi and going strong, I'm sure other things would still be factory and without issues had I not chosen to change them (SAS, diff. gears etc.) Good luck!
