Dual t-case shifter options?
Looking at the Trail Creeper adapter on Wabbits site trying to get things in order for the second t-case and have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer for.
Background: I like the way my 4:56's and 285's work together so re-gearing isn't in the near future (that and I can't afford to re-gear and buy both lockers, also refuse to ever go open/open or locked/open again since I LOVE dual lockers). I don't want to install the 4.7 t-case gears as I think it will limit my options on the trail so a second t-case, or "half case", seems to be the best way to go.
My dilemma is this. I don't want to remove my center console to mount the second shifter and can't find a way to mount both shifters where the original is now. I did consider cutting the bottom out of the console and mounting the second shifter in the bottom where I can hide it (I have the deep two tiered console) and still keep the factory look on the interior but don't know if there is room in there for the shifter to have full range of motion. I could probably cut the shifter down and re-thread it for the shift knob.
Is there a way to mount shifters for both cases in the factory location with a "hinged setup" or something with shift rails?
Also wondering if anyone else has mounted the second shifter inside the deep console and how did it work?
89 4runner, 22re, 5 speed.
Thanks for the help folks.

my 2 cents...
I put a 4.7:1 case in my truck at 1st and I am running 4.88s on 35s...I absolutely loved it going from the stock 2.28:1. My truck is SA and the leafs really dont allow for flying down the trail but if I wanted to move along I could still get a descent cruise going in 4th gear with the 4.7:1. If you are really set on doing duals, I would also recommend the twin stick, I love mine. Its easy to install however you run into your issue of wanting to keep the interior stock. This is how I did mine, still maintains a somewhat stockish look IMO.
Doubler, twinstick and 4.7:1
We just moved the console back further and put a few self tappers in, I then bolted the shifter console back in along with a new boot off ebay.

Love mine and they are not a whole lot more than a dual case shifter. Rory is a cool guy.
Also, Davez Offroad is making a triple shifter as well. Dont know if its available for retail yet though. Give him a call and ask. Dave is a great guy.
