drove to work got towed home

1990 3vze 250,490 miles

It seems that I have a short in or under the fuse block under the hood .it started like it normally does but as I drove I could feel it sputter when I give gas ,figured just needed to warm up a little . I get to work (always a good thing) try to leave nothing not even a click.I pop the hood try a jump nothing not even click ,so I start pulling fuses( all ready called for a tow). Under the hood I find a 15 amp fuse blown replace nothing so I pushed on it to make sure had contact and heard the ignition buzz I let go of the fuse block and the sound stops did it again and the truck starts .so I assume I have a short but have never pulled a fuse block so I am wanting to know what to look for and what not to do

Might be interesting to know just what fuse was open ( blown)??

Sometimes the fuse block gets loose it just takes a small screw driver to pry the female side tight again and your good to go.

If you have a short you would have more open (blown) fuses or your truck would be on fire.

If you do indeed have a short look to the circuit that was open.

I would think you have a loose connection

The main wires are bolted from the bottom side of your fuse block

I will certinly check .so just disconect the battery and flipe over the fuse block and check the connections sounds easy enough . Electrical and me NEVER get along

Unhappy Went up the mountain got towed home

Darn truck just died like someone flipped a switch. I am pretty sure it was my alternator gone bad. tested the battery and out of 800 cranking amps I only had 91.

Was not the charge light on??

Once the battery voltage drops below a certain voltage the ecu/ecm will just shut down.

Ya , I guesses I was not that fuse .it was marked as doom . But still have no power ,at all turn key and zip. Any ideas would be very much aperciated I may be starting a new job that is about 55 miles away. Pays real good .I need help

If you don`t have a Multimeter now might be a good time.

Have you looked for a loose connection around the underhood fuse block.

Look for Arc marks where things may be loose.

Drove to work got towed home today for the first time, master cylinder for clutch out for third time. Damn frustrating. Going to put in the Wildwood this weekend or next. I had to borrow a car to make sure I get to work but I am so determined to get this issue resolved. I love my truck but for the first time today I thought about getting a "for sale " sign. Sorry just venting will continue to give it my all and some day I will actually get to take her on the jeep trail and totally enjoy every ounce hard work I have put into Tuesday the little blue monster.
