Driveshaft flange won't line up with rear diff
Ok so I finally found a third member that would work in my truck ie 8" 4.11. I got it from a junkyard here in SoCal for a deal $80 it's out of a 86 and mine is an 89. Bolted up like a champ untill I reached the driveshaft the flange on the driveshaft dosnt line up to the new thirds flange. I was going through all my options and thinking what the best idea was. I was thinking about just changing the flange on the third with my old flange but if I did so will I have to, get a new crush sleeve, reset the backlash on the diff? Please help I just want to get her on the road again. Thanks.

You are going to have to unstake the nut to remove the flange but if you are careful and pay close attention to where the staked nut lines up on the splines and how many threads are showing etc (how it's on there) you should probably be able to duplicate the positioning and be fine. Done it numerous times. For future reference if you build any diffs use triple drilled flanges that accommodate all the Toyota patterns.

negative, but do NOT over tighten the nut when you put it back on, make a reference mark, (IE count splines showing, use a white marker) and just tighten it back up exactly how it came off and re stake the nut and ur fine..just did this to change out pinion seals

Ok so I couldn't find my old flange so I took dropzone's advice and drilled it worked out perfect. Drove her around for a bit just to make sure everything was in order, got back to the house and discovered that my radiator has a leak, looks like I need to fill up the oxy act tanks and get to brazing. Thank you all for all the help.
