Driver's seat tear? replacement upholstery?
Both my 90 and 94 runners have gaping tears on the drivers seats in the usual spot... too big for tape and sewing any more. I called the dealer and oem replacement upholstery is $367 for the bottom only, and no one has any (no longer produced.) I don't want some crappy looking seat covers... anyone have a source for OEM looking new upholstery or any tricks???
thanks

ive had the same problem matching seat upholstery and found an easy solution.
when scouring the yards the drivers seat is always torn up but the passenger is in great shape. i simply pulled the fabric cover off of the passenger seat back and the whole bottom cushion and switched them to the drivers side. i had to poke an extra hole for the lumber support lever but it looked great and was still all toyota. best part it cost 20 bucks to build a new driver seat and the passenger foam wasnt all smashed down from getting sat on for 100k
this was in a 95 4runner so same generation as yours and should be pretty straight forward
