Priceless you want to know how expensive a repair will be but you have no idea what all could be damaged .
Ok i can understand about like me trying to buy a bra
This is what happens when you let clueless drivers use your Truck.

If you lock the hubs in the front and put it in 4wd, will it go or will it just rev up?
I'm just going to assume it's a u-joint. The driveshaft tube should not bend or kink under what little power these trucks have, especially under normal driving.
Assuming it's just a u-joint, the cheapest option is to go to Napa and get a new joint and install it yourself.
Or go to the junkyard and get a used driveshaft, as Teuf said. That would be the easiest option. Just take old off, put new in. I think it's a total of 10 bolts, IIRC. 4 bolts to hold it to the transfer case output, 4 to hold it to the differential, and 2 to hold the carrier bearing up.
Best, but most expensive option: Get custom built 1-piece driveshaft made. FYI, it'll take longer than one day, so it's also not the quickest option.
Don't let him drive it ever again

If all it will do is rev up in 2 and 4 wheel drive, it seems like there is something else wrong. Ask him if he heard anything other than the pop. If the driveshaft broke, then he would hear a bunch of banging around from the driveshaft hitting other parts of the truck when the truck is still moving.
Pics of the driveshafts would be very helpful.

he's at work right now, all he said was he heard a pop that's it, the trucks in our shop, I took a couple pics but they were blurry so you can't really see anything, I'll try to get over there and take some.

I'm confused. Get under there, look and touch the driveshaft, both ends. Is still attached? Bent. Broken? Who else can look at this? Its in the shop, what shop? Auto shop?
