Hey i just purchased a dual dirtbike carrier that attaches onto the hitch. I put it on with 2 bikes and my 93 runner was tilted very far back. the carrier itself had at most 3 inches of ground clearance. I need to upgrade the springs and shocks to alleviate this problem. I don't know what combination can provide what I am looking for. Basically, I want very very minimal dampening when any amount of weight is either in the runner, or coming from the hitch. Just as an FYI the bikes with the carrier are in total of close to 600 pounds

would the heavy duty old man emu really make it so there is minimal dampening? and would it work on a 4x2?

Landcruiser coils or HD OME coils, your truck will handle weird with that much weight on the hitch (500lbs???).

thats alot of but weight there man you should take one and see if it fits inside the rear cargo first

Airbags! They will help the load and will be pretty much unnoticable unloaded.

With 500lbs on the hitch, your front end will be levered up which will change your alignment a bit. I think that is probably too much for the vehicle. You could get airbags to solve the problem.

You could rely on the bags themselves if they are of decent quality. The ones you posted look okay.

Are you running a class 3 hitch? If that's the case, you are definitely exceeding the hitches tongue weight. I'd look into it before you do any upgrades.
