Dashboard Cracks (Coverking Cover?)

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums and I have a question about my '95 4Runner v6 Limited 4x4.

It's a tan leather interior, and the dashboard has extensive cracks (dry rot?) in it. I've searched similar threads on the subject here, and it looks like a good route to take is a Coverking Dashboard Cover (Costco, Advance Auto). Does anyone have any pics of theirs combined with their interior color? I've been told black is good in any situation because it reduces window glare.
But, I wonder if their tan color is the same as my interior. Also, what's the difference between Velour and Poly Carpet? Thanks guys!

We sell coverking at the store, get the poly carpet, stay away from the velour, it falls apart really easy. The poly carpet, wash it, dry it, throw it back in. It comes with velcro for attachment. when you order one the delivery time states over a week, but they always come in around 3-4 days. Good product, and i think we have a 1 year warranty through the store (kragen).

also, if you go into the store, we have little swatches that you can take out to the truck and compare with your interior.

Thanks for the response, Sean. What's your take on the black having less window glare than tan? Is it just a bunch of hoopla? Btw, it doesn't look like we have a kragen here in Nashville...looks like Costco or Advance Auto are my options.

Hopefully they have those swatches.

I tried to find a replacement dash and finally settled for a glue on cover in desperation......I have been pleased with the results- not 100% but what's the alternative for a 1990.

They should have them. Not sure about glare reduction though.

I have a gray poly carpet dash cover in my 4runner and there is zero glare (because it's, well, carpet), so I wouldn't let the glare thing decide for you.

Well, I went to Costco and Advance Auto yesterday and neither place knew what I was talking about. Of course, Costco has the product on their website, so who knows. Anyone else know any other distributors I could check for these swatches?

Anyone of us under the O'reilly name, i.e.- checker schucks, kragen, murrays.

just responded to your PM, lol, and I think I told you mine's the poly carpet... I believe I was mistaken; it's the velour one

Cool man, thanks for the pics. I called Coverking directly and they're going to send me some samples. If anyone else has pics/comments they want to share, that would be great!

Anyone familiar with the differences between the regular poly-carpet and the molded carpet for the dashboard covers? I know the regular poly-carpet is almost half the price of molded, but maybe there's a reason for this?!? For some reason, I though both options were conformed to the dash?

Superbleeder,

How were you able to get the Toyota word typed on your cover? I called coverking today and they said they are not licensed with Toyota. Anyone else get the same story?

Well, I ordered mine at Advance Auto Parts, and did the hole thing with filling out the little slip that has what is suppose to be embroydered (spelling) on it, and even when placing the order, the CoverKing rep they called up said he wasn't sure if they could do Toyota on it, being a licencing issue and all. But low and behold, when I pulled it out of the box, it had Toyota on it

So I dunno, maybe they do have a license to do Toyota on them. I got mine about 6 months ago, so maybe they've changed since then? Maybe I got lucky and mine slipped through the cracks? I dunno...
