About to swap out my toyota solid axle for a 91 dodge dana 60. I want to get away from the leaf springs cause my 38's always end up against the cab mounts and the front hangar gets in the way plus my springs are beat already after a few months of use. 3 questions. 1st, Where's the best place for the lower right control arm mount. I want to put it below the leaf spring mount but with the cast pumpkin there it's gonna be hard. Pics Please!! also what rate spring should i go with or is there a junkyard option that is good? and finaly what gears are low enough without compromising the strength of the dana 60 for 38's or bigger tires. I'm thinking 5.33's should be good enough for the ~200 to 250hp my rte is pushing. thanks in advance

Well, the first thing you need to straighten out is 3 link or 4 link ... if it's for the front, I would say 3 link, as you have the draglink for the steering anyways, a panhard bar doesn't really affect anything in the end and helps control bumpsteer.

If it's for the rear, I would try to do a triangulated 4 link, but that is going to require moving the gas tank.

As for your question about where on the axle to locate the links, I would put them as far apart as possible. It is good to have some triangulation, even on a 3 link.

There are calculators on Pirate to predict the steering/handling behavior of both 4 links and 3links.

If the truck is drivable now, I would HIGHLY recommend getting it weighed so you know the balance front/rear and can select spring rates accordingly. Generally, you will want the lowest spring rate that doesn't result in a spring too long to fit in the rig.
