Dammit..Couple issues

When I went to start the truck this morning, on the first crank it just cranked for like 15-20 seconds, which is weird, it never does that..After I stopped cranking and tried again, it would fire up immediately after cranking then stall, it did this 5 or 6 times..Then it on the 7th try or so, it fired up and seemed fine.

When we were coming home from flagstaff on Sunday, a check engine light came on when we were about 2 miles away from home! After we got home, I turned the truck off, and started it again and it hasn't been on since.

I'm thinking whatever caused that CEL to come on could be contributing to the problem I had this morning.

Do these computers store codes even when the CEL isn't on like the OB2 systems do? Also, I'm sure I could search, but since I'm making the thread, I may as well ask one more question..How do you check the codes on these things? I'm assuming it's similar to my couple of 3rd gen fbodies I've had..Jump a couple terminals and count the flashes etc? Which terminals if I'm correct on my assumption?

Oh yea, another question..When I'm driving at 45mph + I can't tell for sure, but it seems like my gas pedal is vibrating..Something down there is vibrating like crazy and it's driving me nuts...It's hard to pin down since it only does it above 45mph, but if I let off the gas and coast it goes away, and as soon as I touch the pedal it starts vibrating again..Any ideas what to look for?

Ok, searched and found the terminals I needed to jump..It's throwing a code 12, which is a knock sensor apparently..

Sweet.

Started checking out around the knock sensor..Just barely tugged on the wire and it fell out of the sensor...I've got it soaking in wd40 right now, so I can pull it off and solder the wire back into the sensor and re-insulate it..Damn thing does not want to come off.

Well looks like you figured it all out yourself. Nice good job.

As for the vibrating check all your U joints and rear pinion to see of anything is wobbling and needs to be replaced.
