CV Shaft, Brake Pads and Rotors, and Steering Stabilizer Install Advice

Alright guys this weekend I'm going to try and do some work on the ol' 4Runner (90 4x4 3.0 5spd 1.5 in BJ and lc coil lift). I've gotta put on new CV shafts which are long over due, the boots have been torn since I've owned the truck. I also need to replace the front rotors and pads because they are long gone as well as bleed the brakes. I'm also picking up a steering stabilizer either Rancho or Trail Boss (these are what O'riellys has in stock). I'm spending half my paycheck on this dang truck! Oh well it needs to be done.

I've done a lot of searching on the subjects and think I have a pretty good idea of what i need and how to do it but more advice is always appreciated. My future father in law will be helping me out because I'm still kind of a newbie at stuff like this. He has a shop and access to about any tool you can think of (He restores antique John Deere tractors for a living as well as having worked on/painted/restored vehicles all his life)

My question for ya'll is do you have any advice/tips/tricks/suggestions for me?

I'm doing both soon, just gotta pick up an electric impact first.

This is a pretty good illustration https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-w-pix-144314/

I may end up doing bj spacers at the same time so I'll might take it completely apart to get mine done but only time and money will tell.

Good luck!

What I've done in the past for the rotors is find an extra lugnut and a brass drift to pound out the old studs. It can be a PITA but it works. Just prop it up on a couple pieces of lumber and go to town. with your sledgehammer. I put the extra lug nut on the end of the studs to protect the threads and usually use a drift as well just for good measure. If you have access to a press (it sounds like you may) that would make this job a real breeze. Get some bearing grease and a new inner bearing seal because it's the perfect time to re-pack your bearings and replace the seal.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice and yes i do have access to a press i just used it the other day to press new studs in my wheel spacers after shearing four of them off, so that wont be a problem. I think I will replace the seals and pack the bearings while I'm in there most of the threads Ive seen have suggested that as well.
