Custom bed.

Custom bed.-photo610.jpg
The bed is being built specifically for carrying an ATV during hunting season. I will also do some body work this year but will not paint until next year. What kind of primer should I use?

Nice work. I want to see more pics of that bad boy.

what are you using to paint it (rattle can, spray booth, etc)?

Thanks. When I paint , it will be in a paint booth setting. I have been doing spot rust on the body with duplicolor primer. Also the tube bed was done with duplicolor ( rattle can). The tail lights are 2007 jeep LED lights. Custom bed.-photo4294966857.jpg

No. I will put angled walls on the inside of the bed that leave only enough room for the ATV to go straight in and straight out.

How bout some por15 that stuff would help with any rust.

Are you gonna paint it to match the body or black?

Should really just be sure whatever primer you use will be compatable with the top coat. Pay attention to base (epoxy, acrylic or oil)

Nice work that thing looks awesome like that it's purpose built with no unnecessary bells and whistles for show. Although integrating a headache rack with some lights or LED light bar would be a great addition. Would give you extra visibility, protect back window, and give you some tie down spots for shovel, jack or whatever you need.

*Actually maybe strike the headache rack suggestion it would probably really take away from the nice clean look it has now. The way you wrapped that front bar is sweet, really like the way it contours around the body lines.

Thanks for the advice. With time running out I buffed off all rust and used duplicolor primer and sealer. All fab work is only roughed in for functionality until after hunting season. I'll do all body work then. I added a rear bumper. Still have to build a front bumper and nerf bars. The bed will be painted to match the cab. Custom bed.-photo4294966672.jpg
