I know this is a repeat but couldnt find anyone asking about cup holders for a 95, what do you guys use? in my 4runner turbo diesel ive got NOTHING....there seems to be some sort of panel just above the AC controls that looks like it pops out, is there anything regarding cup holders i can fit into that??? or anything???

checked it, it just appears to be easy access to the mechanism for the AC???

i believe camrys have the cup holders you're talking about. prob an easy swap.

circled in red.
should be 2 circle cut outs and a bottom arm that drops down when pulled out. if they are not there when you pull this out then try to find one on ebay.

That's it...what, you don't already have that mechanism in there?

Trust me, it won't hold anything bigger than a pop can, small water bottle, or small drink cup. They're flimsy as heck, too, and will probably crack on you.

no ive got nothing in that???? i may have a rare diesel engine but no cup holders!!!

i took a 2'' sanding drum to mine and made the left hole bigger. i can now fit a sobe bottle and most med. sized drink cups in there and it doesnt move at all. i could probably go a little bit bigger for large drinks but im afraid the plastic wont support the weight.

mcquaid, i believe early 90s to early 2000s have em. not 100% on that one though.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mine is already cracked. I'm not worried about it, since I have my satellite radio and cell phone holder mounted in the vents above it, I can't use it anymore.

I had a problem with mine and I got a new one from the dealership. The one I got was redesigned and was larger and stronger than the old one.

Well,do yourself a favor when you do get one installed. Never put any type of drink "can" in their.
it'll slip right through,1st bump you hit...then you'll have a nice sticky mess on your shifter.
But...you can do what I do (although i do have the pull out drink holders)...I get my gf to hold my drink(among other things) ;>P

Cupholders were optional in Europe and in Japan because often times people liked to buy the simplest most inexpensive stripped down Toyota they could. We Americans looove our food, and seemingly love to eat while driving. I sure do, unfortunately. About five years ago the most important feature most people were looking for in a Sport Utility Vehicle was the number of cupholders back when every suburban mother wanted one to drive her obese children around... They became, dare I say, fashionable. Even at 12 miles per gallon or so in full time 2wd. Good news for you, because that means there are a lot of road-mileage only Toyotas here in the US with plenty of fully optioned parts, but on the other hand, our cupholders see a lot of use.

uhhh... I disagree. pretty much the only thing I'll trust mine with is a pair of cans. Anything heavier, and I feel like the whole thing is going to snap off. I've never lost a drink through the bottom either. Could be yours is partly broken or installed funny... I say stick something like toolbox liner (or a splash of bedliner if you have some lying around) to that flat bar on the bottom if the cans are slipping around everywhere.

Yeah,I am notorious for putting cans in my holder and *bounce*...they slip right through.
No they are not broken,cracked or installed wrong. It is perfectly fine...I just got dumb luck I guess.
I really should put something in their to secure them better.

Now if BK can design a drink cup that isn't 4 galons large...life would be good. Them darn things don't even get close to fitting in the cup holder...rrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I too would like to be able to fit a bk cup in my cup holder. I can fit a large taco bell cup in my holder but it puts alot of stress on the plastic
