A couple of issues with my 91 PU V6 3.0

I have a couple of problems with my 91 extended cab PU, 4x4 with 3.0 and manual transmission.

First issue is an oil leak on the driver's side towards the front of the engine. Not losing a ton of oil, but a noticeable amount. Seems to be concentrated a few inches in front of and inside the front driver's tire. I can take photos and post them tomorrow if it will help.

Second issue is a squeaking noise that seems to come from the center of the truck, around the firewall. The squeaks get faster as I accelerate and continue whether the clutch is engaged or not.

The master cylinder was replaced just before I bought the truck. Also, the engine was replaced 5 to 6 years ago.

I don't really know too much about these trucks, as I just purchased this one a couple of months ago. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

take a pic of the oil...and squeaking noise could possibly be the pilot bearing? or MAYBE the throwout bearing...maybe..does it increase in speed with RPMS??

I'll get a photo as soon as I can. Yes, the squeaking increases with RPM. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

okay! and no problem dude..that's why i'm here!

and it kinda sucks that both of the parts i suggested require you to drop the tranny LOL

could be the input shaft?

idk what else it could be..not much rotating back there

That right there eliminates the pilot or throw out bearings.


They oil leak is more than likely the factory oil cooler.You can replace the O ring for this.

also, make sure your not mistaking power steering fluid for oil. i had a leaking power steering pump and thought it was oil for a while before just checking it.
