Hey Everyone,

Trying to identify this coolant hose.
I included the top of the intake for reference. This is on a 89 3.0 Runner. Is this the Heater box send or return line? I ask because im trying to figure the best location for installing a thread in (inline) engine temp sensorn that will give me the closest to actual block temp. I purchased this truck for my son, but we have only had it 10 days now, so im still locating manuals and familiarizing myself with the layout. Im not real fond of the radiator vains temp sensors. Any suggestions on mount locations? So far I have searched around a little and do not see any NPT plugged locations on the manifold or block, although all that stuff is awful tightly packed in there.

I don't know the 3.0 at all, but I would say the return, only because typically the "send" hose is the one with the heater valve, which you can clearly see back behind the hose you're pointing at

That looks like the return line from the heater core. Does it go through the fire wall?

I good place to put a water temp sensor is in the upper radiator hose. That takes coolant from the engine to the radiator and is usually within 5 degrees of the factory ECU coolant temp, after the thermostat opens.

Not sure if it is the heater out or heater return, but, the pic below shows you where it comes from. There is a pipe under the intake manifold that runs from the front of the block. Anyone know if that is return or feed?

The heater hose with the valve is the "hot" one the other one is returning to the engine.
