code 52 knock sensor

ok before posting here i did do a forum search on this issue to no avail

i have 91 4runner with 3vz-e that gives a code 52 (knock sensor) fault.

could someone tell me where it is located? i have chiltons manual but it doesnt say.

hopefully it is just dirty or sumthin, darn thing is 157 bux

Between the cylinder heads on the block, under the manifold.

so what yer sayin is that since i have a new shiny pcv valve now is the time to change that too?

Dont forget the grommet. The knock sensor has a single wire running to it, usually they are very brittle and can become a problem. If you have in mind to replace the sensor, order the wire as well.

What size socket fits the knock senser?

Don't quite remember, I think I used an adjustable. They are usually not tight.

So you have to take off the plenum (sp?) to get to it?

When you take that off is there any type of gasket you have to replace?

i have a code 52 and I was also thinking of replacing the PVC while I was in there...
