Clutch Pedal No Pressure. Help. :/
Hey all,
I'm an idiot and took my 1987 4x4 out mudding last night. On my drive home about a mile or so from my house I noticed I was having a hard time shifting between gears. I barely got it home by nursing it in second. The pedal was feeling looser and looser as the drive went on.
This morning if the truck is off I can just slide it into 1st no problem. But with the engine on I can't do anything because the clutch pedal has no pressure and is pushing all the way to the floor without engaging anything.
So... It's not drivable.
I've washed out everything under the hood thinking that might help, but so far it's a no go.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I just noticed that i have a lot of clutch fluid on the floorboard under my floor-mat in the cab. I suppose that almost all of my fluid has drained out into here. I don't know car talk enough to know the correct terms, but the clutch pedal is connected to the rod, which goes into some sort of cylindrical housing as it passes through the firewall/cab area into the 'under the hood' area. i think that cylindrical housing thing needs to be replaced. any idea what that is called or how to do it? I've got a haynes manual but i don't know what to look up.

You need a New Master and Slave cylinder and it might not be a bad idea to change the rubber hose as well.
Pretty easy for most just remove the old parts and install the new add fluid and bleed.
Yes it can be a pain working under the dash if need be I remove the seat to be more comfortable.
You might want to make sure the clutch pedal bracket did not break.
