Clutch pedal

Okay, i have a 90 4runner 3vze. My pedal bracket cracked so i went to pick n pull and pulled one of a 95 tacoma. The brackets are just about identical except for one thing. The spring that pulls the pedal back. Anyone have any ideas on how i can make this work. I really dont feel lke pay 80 for a new bracket. Got this one for $17.45

I ran my truck for a month or so without having the spring hooked up and nothing bad seemed to happen. You could also try taking the old bracket to a welding shop to get it repaired. The shop near my house welded up the bracket in exchange for two boxes of donuts. That's even better than Pick-n-Pull prices.
