clutch install Q?s

allright i got my tranny on the ground and i took out the throw out bearing but it looks like its pressed onto a peice thats connected to the clutch fork...is it pressed or do you guys think i can get it off??

What kind of drugs are you on?

Is his tranny different from mine ... 85 - 86 ?

Mine is pressed onto a bearing housing ...

Yah, napa shows same exact part for 86 tranny ...

You can use a vice or I went to a shop and had them press it off and press the new one on.

BUY IT IN A KIT, my new throw out bearing was smaller because the splines on the pressure plate were smaller.

We are pimpin the W's I think ...

i have no idea honestly dude, I just picked this truck up a month ago. and did the entire clutch job over the weekend.

yeah i got the kit, and when i searched that winding whirring buzzing didint quite pop out at me with an answer to my question, none of the results did, but you answered it i need to get somebody to press it off and new one on...figures....thanks

You can do it yourself, if you have a table Vice...

Put the bearing in the vice and use a hammer and a large socket to pop out the housing......

Then place the housing in the vice with the bearing and slowly close it, pressing them together...

Should work like a charm.

kinda low on funds....but i just looked for the heck of it and their all over $100 bucks...for some reason i wasent expecting that ?
