My vehicle: 86 4Runner, 22RE

Wondering if there would be any issues with disconnecting and reconnecting the AFM to clean it this evening. In other words is there any configuration or learning with the AFM? Or if it's safe to unplug and re-install when it's clean.

On some of my prior vehicles I know the TPS would have to be reset if unplugged, and it would run super rough until recalibrated.

Wanted to ask before I took this apart. Quick replies appreciated. I plan to start on this within the hour.

You can't hurt nothing by unplugging it and plugging it back in. A TPS is something else entirely, and would be needing reset when re-installed on a Toyota motor too.

But you better be careful cleaning the thing. You can't use any kind of solvents or fluids of any kind(other than air). And you really shouldn't disassemble it, if you don't absolutely have to...
