Check out the float level on my 22r carb
I think the fuel level is low. This is at idle w/o the AF on.
I still have the issue where I can fully accelerate through first and second without an issue but full throttle in 3rd or climbing an incline in 4th will cause bucking. I replaced a bunch of vacuum lines earlier today hoping that would help since they were chewed up from the PO. ... but that didn't make a difference..

you can very lightly bend the float up a little to allow more fuel in if that helps you, otherwise check your fuel flow out of the pump and make sure you're getting plenty.

x2 ^^^ or you can do a rebuild, get the more expensive kit as it comes with more replacement parts specific to your model, with some time and a good bench of some sorts, its really not the difficult, did mine in about 3 hours, but i also didint soak it...just blasted all the ports i could see with some carb cleaner and compressed air, would recommend soaking it for best results..but if you do decide to bend the float a little, theres 5 screws i think? not sure.. that hold on the top half of the carb, you can see all of them except one, its n the center in a hole...

I've said this before and alot of people forget it, so no sense in assuming, make sure you or the PO whoever put the new fuel pump in that the plastic spacer in in between the pump and the head. I believe the spacer affects fuel pressure.

yeah... the freakin' float kit costs $60 from what I've found..
I have a friend that is pushing a Weber as he has them on his Datsun 240Z (he has several of these...).
I just wonder if I would fail VA Emissions if I put an aftermarket carb on since I'll be eliminating a lot of crap.
I can almost get a new Redline Weber kit for what it would cost for a float kit and rebuild kit..

I wouldn't worry about replacing the float, just bending the tabs which you will have to do anyway with the new float.

Thanks, nothing special just fully stock with a wooden flatbed and some $20 aux lights on the bumper. The rebuilt motor is worth twice as much as the rest of the truck. If I ever get it running for more than 5 minutes. lol
