Rupaul was a tranny that was mainly used in the early to mid 90's (heavily) but I have heard has made some sort of a comeback recently with a new show of some sort. Probably more miles than you'd want. Also noisy and obnoxious, probably not the best choice of tranny.

I don't think I'm interested in the shift knob either...

Ok ok...so I think what I've found is a w56 forward shift TRANSMISSION and tcase. I have a g52 forward in my 84. I'm hoping this is a direct swap with now body modifications required!?!?

I put this thread here for the tranny year btw...figured you guys new your tranny's better than us with the older trucks.

Edit: turd fergeson...when I joined, I had to choose stumpyjohnson cuz turd fergeson was taken...

I've done forgot which letter on the tranny serial code is the designator. First or second letter designates it.

Awesome.......It looks like between the tranny jokes and interests in the same screen name we have the same sense of humor

Yea I think it's the w56 d or e...

Either way its a top shift and should work without any mods really. Although I do imagine I need a speedo adapter thang, sources?
