Buying another Toyota, a question or two.

That's the one I'm looking at. I like the SFA and EFI combination and really want a 4runner since I feel I'll get better use out of it for camping and taking trips with my extra large dog. I'll probably have to sell my truck after I get the runner to fund another build but that really isn't an issue.
Ok the question is this. Would any of you buy the runner and sell the truck just to start another build even though I'm almost done building the truck? I'm also guessing that things like my Marlin front bumper, t-case plate, supra AFM etc will swap into the runner so I can save some money there. The money I save will of course go into lift, thirds, tires, and a pair of Aussies.
Oh and is there anything huge to look out for on the 85 model runners? I'm always a little concerned about the "first year for this, last year for that" models.
Thanks.

Sorry I don't have anything helpful to say about it, but thats really clean! I love the color as well. I wish I could find an '85 with EFI.
Personally, I would buy the 4runner and sell the truck, but if money permitted, I would keep the truck too.

that, my friend, looks to be a pretty nice little truck! if you can get it for less than 2k would be even better. spend some time and check it out, maybe liquidate some stuff you dont need to free up some cash.
good luck and keep us posted.

'85 EFI 4Runners have proven to be the ones to have over the years. Cosmetically that one looks to be in very good shape.
-I would wonder about the Bed liner being applied to the top in the rear, seems like in Arizona it would increase the oven effect.
-I would ask for more pictures of the engine/drivetrain, but heck it might be worth the drive to head over and look at the truck and do a compression check etc if the seller would allow it.
-some sellers think the '85 is the golden toyota, hopefully his reserve is not like $6K or something stupid...
Good luck

just 'cause it's the last year of solid axle for the US, does not mean it was the last year solid axle.
Personally, I wouldn't sell either of my trucks just to finance another. We are not satisfied with what we have so we see no reason to move on to more.
However, if what the owner says is true, it's worth every penny of 1900, maybe slightly more... but with 1232 as the current bid and reserve not met, I wonder what the reserve is.
