burnt clutch? ... or someting else

ok so i have a 92 4runner sr5 3.0 man and its bien about 2 weeks ive bien having sliping problems like i would be around 2.5k rpm on 3rd gear and i would give gave my rpm would go up but not my speed i can barly press on gass if i whant to accelaret same ting with every speed but today omw to the garage i was at a red ligth and when it turned grenn i noticed i did not need to press the clutch anymore to put it in gear and the car dosent move anymore so i am wondering if anybody knows what the problem is i bougth this car 3 weeks ago so i dont know when clutch was changed last

sounds like a clutch to me...did you smell anything burning?

ya i smelt the clutch all the way .... but this migth sound like a noob quesbut i tot clutch was only used to make a gear go in and them the trany takes it from there ....and from what i heard when a clutch is burnt u cant put it in gear anymore me it was the oposite without clutch noor gas i was able to put it in gear when was was on witout afecting the RPM

When your clutch goes, you can shift it into gear like you explain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clutch

edit-your clutch disc is what you smelled burning

Might wanna learn how to drive a manual before you take it on the open road or buying one.

Replacing clutches are not fun.
