Burning but dont know why.
I got a 1991 Toyota pickup. we put a 3.0 into her a week ago that was resealed as far as the gaskets went and had the heads checked but on her maiden outing she burned a white and blue smoke. mostly at idle or on takeoff . I m bout at my whit's end with this truck.
I used a 10 -30 synthetic instead of regular . not sure if it would make that issue. oil looks clean with typical moisture build up on the fill cap.
no loss of coolant from the radiator. replaced thermostat .
no leaks on the block or valve covers .
the fuel has Lucas gas treatment and I run a mid range gas .
The engine before it had a dead cylinder and burned oil pretty good so my mechanic suggested it was either oil in the exhaust pipe burning off or the oil was to thin and burning into the pistons. but why would it be white ?
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Keep an eye on the fluid levels and drive it some more.
Oil in the exhaust
Condensation in the exhaust as well
This time of year where I am with the warm days and cold nights condensation is really heavy.
give it some time
To ease your mind do a coolant system pressure test
