Bump Stop Replacement 1990 Pickup

Hello again everyone
The rear leaf spring bump stops on my 1990 Toyota pickup have totally disintegrated and need to be replaced. I'm having a hard time finding an aftermarket replacement so I'm thinking I might need to find a bump stop from a different vehicle that will fit. Here are the bump stops from a CJ5:

Problem is I don't know what the bolt hole dimensions are. Has anyone replaced their Toyota bump stops with something other than dealer bump stops?

IIRC, the rear bump stops don't bolt on in stock configuration for the 3rd gen pickup - they are clamped down by the u-bolts on top of the leaf pack. i don't even run mine anymore but i believe the type of bump you're looking for has a single bolt protruding from the bottom, like these:

The rear bump stops on the 1990 pickup mount with two bolts, 4 3/8"(11cm) center to center and the bumper is 3" high. The bump stop is mounted on the frame directly over the rear axle housing where it is clamped to the leaf springs.

hmm...then i'm wrong perhaps they changed it through the years I'm 100% sure mine were on the leaf pack clamped down with the u-bolts, and was the OEM configuration for my truck.

either way, there's lots of vendors still carrying the correct bumps you're looking for, both styles - they're only like $25 for the pair for the kind you're seeking. I think Trail Gear even markets some these days.

Now this is interesting All the leaf spring vehicles I have seen in person the bump stops are clamped in place by the u-bolts

The newest one was the 2000 Tacoma unless they went back to this style.

Why not just buy new ones from the dealer.

The stock bump stops are $50 each from the dealer and they have to special order them. Also, stock bump stops are rubber, newer bump stops are polyurethane; much more durable and functional.

You would think so, but that's not the case. After extensive internet searching, I came up with only one aftermarket bump stop that even comes close to fitting my truck. It's the Daystar KJ09122BK, which is made for the Jeep Cherokee. The people at Daystar were super helpful, sending me technical drawings to see if I could find something that would work.
A set of two polyurethane bump stops came out to about $65, judging by the blueprints, I will need to modify the bolt holes a little, nothing major, I hope. I'll check back on how they fit after I get them and install them on my truck.

Well to me the time taken to modify what your getting would more then pay for the dealer ones .

Since I don`t have any like you need it is a moot point I have 2 or 3 sets from the trucks I stripped.

The Daystar KJ09122BK bump stops work great. Took about 15 minutes to drill a few holes to make them fit. They fit great, are about 3/4" longer than the stock bumpers, which will help the twenty three year old springs on the bumpy Forest Service roads I spend a lot of time driving on and they are made of polyurethane, which is superior to the stock rubber stops. The design is more functional as well.

Using twenty three year old parts to replace the twenty three year old parts that just failed doesn't make much sense to me, my truck is not anything special, except to me because I depend on it. I figure I might as well do the job right.
