built 89 4runner, keep it for a work truck or sell it and start searching?

Looking to pull the trigger on an 05 Land Cruiser for our next build. The problem is that I'm still working in construction and the spring here is crazy muddy. I don't want to ruin the leather on the LC using it for a work rig so I've started thinking about keeping the 89 for a work truck. The issue is this.... I can't sell the 4runner for anything up here (North Dakota). Seems like it's worth about 1500$ to anyone local, even the dealership is talking 1200 for trade in. Pisses me off since it's lifted, locked front and rear.... well most of you know what I've done to it since I post all the upgrades here.

Anyway I'm thinking of transferring the roof rack and tires onto the new LC and keeping the 4runner as a work vehicle.

Thoughts?

Seems kind of stupid to use it as a worker but that's about where I'm at right now.

I'd love to cash it in for about 5k (much less than what I have into it) and get the LC and then buy an older Toyota pickup (guy down the road has an 84 4x4 single cab that runs great but the bed is rusted to hell, interior is trashed, had a plow at one time, he wants 400$) to use as a work vehicle but my lady won't let me have more than 2 Toyotas in the yard at one time so I have to so some swapping.

Do you have 15 or 16 inch rims? The LC is going to be 16"+.
What you said sounds like the best plan. IMO. That way you also have 2 vehicles in case one fails.

May as well keep it man. Good point on the rim sizes

Put some seat covers in it and some weathertech rubber floor mats and lock the hubs

Sounds like a no brainier to just keep it if you're gonna take a bath selling it. Around here even a really beat 1st gen runner will fetch more than 1500 bucks.
