Broken Clutch hard line

While installing my headers I was trying to give a little clearance to the clutch hydraulic line off of the headers. I guess I bent it a little too hard, because I broke it. I am having trouble finding a part number so that I can replace it. Does anybody know what the p/n is for the hard section of clutch hydraulic tubing than goes from the slave cylinder to the bracket on the passenger side of the engine?

Welcome to the club!!!

You can use 3/16 hard brake line and bend it with your hands. Same stuff used on the brakes all around your truck. make it anyway that works for you.

However, I did the Russell braided steel ine on mine bypassing the passenger side bracket. One bulkhead fitting, one adapter for the slave clyinder, one 90 degree bend, one straight, one 3' piece of -3 braided stainless. Assemble and install. If your headers really make things difficult get a longer hose section a 180 degree fitting vice a 90 and route over the transmission and up to the firewall.

I used the flex line and now the clutch does not fully release making shifting difficult. Can this be adjusted at the pedal? Could it have something to do with the flex line? Yes, I have bled the system properly.

Yes; the pedal adjustments work regardless of the line. Is it possible you used a flex line that expands?

I used -3 stainless brake line so it goes nowhere. mine works like normal factory stock. Could you have internal leakage in the master clutch clyinder under high pressure?

Pretty sure the line doesn't expand and yes I did bleed the system completely. I am thinking that with the new lines and a new clutch the pedal is just out of adjustment. Trouble is, I am working offshore and will not be home til next week to work on it. Thanks for the tips guys.

Red face

Are we correct that this is the first time you drove the truck with the new clutch??

Did it work ok before you broke the line?? Or where you moving the line in the final touches of the clutch install.

There have been a lot of incorrect parts in clutch kit packages .

could be the wrong clutch parts .

You need to have someone push the clutch while you are underneath watching how it works . Like was said it could be the wrong line that expands or maybe a hard kink.

Check it out and go from there.

I got the same line as was described in post #3. The braided stainless. Worked for him, should work for me.
The clutch was part of a motor replacement, so it was never previously driven.
The clutch kit came from Marlin Crawler, who I have seen on here comes highly recommended. Not that that is for sure not the problem, but it seems unlikely.
I will try adjusting the pedal first then check the action and move on down the list until it is fixed.
Another thing though is my brakes are also acting strange. Maybe that is another thread but the pedal is very very stiff and even standing on the pedal it doesnt move much and the brakes are barely working enough to stop the truck.
