brakes are driving me crazy
My brakes are getting the best of me.
I have gone through them pretty good over the past year on my 94 runner. I machined the rotors, replaced booster, changed fluid, tightened rear drums, and machined the rotors again after they warped again . When I say I changed the fluid i really changed the fluid, I sucked all the fluid out through all four wheels with a high powered vacuum, and no I didn't suck in any air.
I am just not getting the response I need. They work, but it is impossible to lock them up if I stomp on them (even on wet pavement) and it takes a little to long to slow the vehicle down when driven regularly. I don't think the brakes ever worked properly since there is some front end damage still visible on the front clip. The grill, bumper and hood have been replaced. I found this all out after I bought the vehicle a few years ago.
any thoughts? I have done all this work myself so i know it was done right.

I just replace the fluid on an 87 xtra-cab, and using a power bleeder, had very little pedal feel and it took a year to stop. It took manually bleeding the brakes and some new pads to get the truck to stop. try manually bleeding and see if it helps.
