Brake upgrade question.
My 86 4Runner has a solid axle up front, and i plan on upgrading to vented rotors soon. Once you have the vented rotors and the V6 calipers, is it just a matter of swapping the vented rotors and V6 calipers for the original parts and thats it ?. I have 15x10 rims on my 4Runner, will i have any clearance issues with the larger calipers and my rims ?. Can i use brake calipers from any year V6 truck or 4Runner ?.

No clearance issues for 15" rims...they came stock with 15s
Only problem will be the dust sheild needs to be trimmed about an inch on both sides of the caliper...
Get yourself a 1" Master cylinder while your at it.

also depends on your backspacing of rims...
my buddy had a problem with his calipers hitting on his 15 inch rims....
changed rims to ones with different backspacing and problem solved... so put them on and try it.. lol...

Im not 100 % sure.
Anybody else kno?
I wouldnt grind on my caliper tho. Just my own preference.
I think the rims you have are what my buddy have. So you should be fine.
Only one way to find out tho. Haha

You have never heard of doing this before ?. Im not talking about grinding alot of metal off the caliper, just a very little if needed. Otherwise i would just buy some wheel spacers.
