Brake Problems

Hey guys,
So i have a 93 3.slow with 35" tires, and today my brakes were acting real feisty. The brakes aren't that great to begin with trying to slow down those big meats, but today I was literally standing on them and barley stopping. The front pads arent in great shape, but are probably at 20% left or so. Rear shoes was inspected last year and replaced aprox 2 years ago.

No squeaking or rubbing, and that soft push on the pedal became me standing on the pedal very fast. Checked the fluid reservoir, seemed at a pretty good level. Since there doesn't seem to be leaks, Im thinking brake master cylinder is going bad? The truck is just shy of 200k miles, anyones thoughts?

Thanks

Your Emergency brake is working and you do use it to keep the rear shoes adjusted up.

Hoses get old and swell up under pressure

How old is the brake fluid it does break down with age.

i would say you gotta bad brake booster... check your vacum lines first if there good then you should just change the booster. could probably get one pretty cheap at a junkyard with the master on it or can spend anywhere from 120 to 240 online for a new booster alone

I've had the same problems. I found a booster off a 92 non 4wd. I have e a 95 with 4wd. Would a simple swap help? I already know my booster is bad so I figured it's rare for them to go out. So I got the 92 booster for 40 instead of 200 but I want to know if it will work. It's from the same Gen so I figured it would.
