Brake line routing

1988 4Runner. I am replacing all of the brake lines both - hard lines a flexible hoses. I have the appropriate tools (pipe cutter, bender, flare tool, etc.) and I have managed to get the front-end completed. My questions is about the lines running front to rear. There are two "unions" behind the front right side wheel, which run to the rear of the vehicle and into the proportioning valve (old-school anti-lock).

Does anyone know which of the two "unions" in the front of the vehicle feeds which side (top or bottom) of the proportioning valve? Front "union" goes to "top" of valve, or vice-versa?

Any and all help appreciated. I did search for an answer to this, but didn't see anything.

I forogt to mention that I cannot just trace them down from front to back. The rear brakes were disconnected with the fronts looped back on themselves some time ago. So where the long lines route over the top of the gas tank (invisible without removing tank) I cannot tell which one goes to top or bottom fitting on proportioning valve.

Does this help?

Use the Change vehicle tab to put in you rigs specs and the more info button to get the picture.

Yes, RWOREGON, that helps massively. Your second link has a great schematic of the complete hydraulic system, which is what I was looking for. It is a little vague as to which of the long lines (front to rear) goes to exactly which of the "unions" up front, but I think I can infer which goes where.

Thanks for the assist.

Welcome!

Hit CNTL + on your keyboard and the diagram will get bigger. It may be a bit easier then to see. That website is a treasure trove of part numbers and pics.
