Brake lights staying on/stuck

Brake lights staying on/stuck
I just noticed that my brake lights seem stuck and stay on constantly , even with the truck off. I can touch the brake pedal a few times and they will go off.
I'm guessing there is a switch somewhere that is sticking. Where is it and how bad is it to change out?
Brake fluid is full also. I noticed it was low about the same time the lights were stuck. Filled up the reservoir and they still are acting crazy

The stop light switch on the pedal is likely sticking or out of adjustment.
There should be .020"-.090" of clearance between the pedal and switch.
Easy to fix. Here is how...

Yep stop lamp switch, its above the pedal. Easier and cheaper to replace it than fix it 9 times out of ten. Just read the instructions for setting the new 1, usually have to push the pedal down slow to get it to set right.

Mine did the same when the plastic piece that pushes the button came off. I stuck a dry wall screw in the hole and taped over it and forgot about it til I saw this post lol!

yup, that's the most common problem, the little plastic plug get's brittle and falls out, the dealer has those in stock since it's so common, only a few dollars LOL, just buy the factory one!

broken plunger and worn foot
Pics for reference. Rubber foot seems to be used few different places on the pedal assembly. 14mm nut is barely accessible below. Removing lower plastic dash piece helps to unplug switch
