I was just curious because my oil fill cap has been getting white frothy gunk on the inside. I was very worried about the HG. Then I did google search and it seems that this is not abnormal with the cold temps lately. Turns out to be just moisture evaporating out the engine and forming on the oil cap. But your symptoms sound more serious.

Just curiousity...

Any ideas of a general price range a 92 4runner would go for? With a blown HG.. ran excellent previous to that...

doing mine as we speak on a 91 v-6 it has cost me about 500 and that was getting toyota head gaskets and fel-pro gaskets for the rest. but i didnt resurface the heads, but depending on the miles u have might want to have the valves cut and resurface, if u do most of the work and just have a motor shop just cut the valves and resurface u can spend 150 or so and save ur self another 300 by doing valve adjustments and putting the heads together your self,
