blazeland kit/rear axle swap
Hopefully within the next month i will be ordering the blazeland kit for my 87 4runner. i have been trying to figure out what to do with the rear axle since it will now be much shorter than the ifs front. i have been looking into swaping in a t100 axle but have had absolutely no luck finding t100 parts anywhere near me. what are my other options? given i would like to keep it in budget since i will also be getting gears, lockers and tires this winter. obviously wheel spacers are a cheap alternative but i've heard mixed opinions on whether its good to run them. anyone one have any ideas or experience on this? or opinions about the wheel spacers? thanks

T-100 rear axles have the correct width but they are not easy to locate. I also believe the T-100 uses a different third member center section and gears and lockers may not be available?
I have not had any issues with wheel adaptors / spacers. I currently am running 3" adaptors on my 4Runner and 2" adaptors on my truck. I know many Blazeland customers are also using wheel adaptors without problems. I have heard a lot of talk about how wheel adaptors are unsafe or prone to failure but no specifics are ever given.
The exception to that is is a friend of mine with a 1967 Bronco had lug nuts loosen up on the adaptor and the adaptor with wheel still attached came off. The shop that installed the adaptors claims they torqued them to spec. Anway when the wheel came off he managed to pull over to the side of the freeway but the wheel flew off the overpass and embedded in some dudes windshield below. There was some injury from the glass and some damage to the van. It was a big insurance nightmare.
Back to the axle width, A lot of desert rats running LT up front like to swap in Tacoma Rears and use 1.5" wheel adaptors. This gives them correct width and they can get the E-locker.

yep. I plan on using an FJ-80 rear. Issue with that (I think the same is true with the tacoma axle) is the diff is offset to the passenger side, which interferes with the gas tank. I'm already doing custom mounts, wiring, and lines with my 2" body lift and 4.3 swap, so I'm just relocating the tank to the driver's side....
the FJ-80 axle is still a bit narrower, but I think it'll be close enough.
Wheel spacers are fine. Won't hurt your bearings any, and as long as you keep the nuts between the hub and spacer/adapter tight (loc-tite!!!!), you won't have an issue.

i think the spacers is the route im gonna go. im on a serious budget here so the money i save there could go towards a rear air locker to match the front instead of the luchbox i was gonna go for.
