best way to go about switching some parts..

happy halloween yota tech as i sit hear listening to the miserable men halloween special on howard 101 sirius satellite radio i have a question for you.

ok my old trail rig has the welded diff and the e brake has been cut on the drums but the brakes are in good shape ..

my new trail rig has open rear so i wanna put my welded in... the rear brakes backing part of drum or backing plate is rusted through and i can gaurennte this wont be too good for the muck and winter wheeling... the ebrakes is rusted but still attached and working..

so how would i de hook the ebrake so i can use it if i need to down the road.. would it be better to just swap the axle shafts?? or should i just change the whole axle over??? i could use the shocks off the other runner cause they are in better shape but its no big deal...

my plan is to put both rear ends on jack stands blocked the front and swap but i dont know where is good to disconnect ebrake and since i cut the ebrake on the other truck can i put the other ebrake from the back drums on the other one?

i also just put new rotor calipers and pads on the rummer im scrapping so i think i will switch the calipers and pads for now since the rotors are fine on the other truck and save the newer rotors for next time my surf needs them.. what can i put on them to prevent rusting or is surface rust ok

i might only have 1 more day of good weather and also have to wire up my trailer hitch on the surf car dolly.i am also taking the wiring harness for that from the junk runner!!!
I REALLY WANT TO GO WHEELING SUNDAY...
or do i just rock the stocker?
i can pull the welded rear in 30 minutes cause all the bolts where cracked not long ago the new trail rig has had a thrusting.

If it were me i would just pull the axels with the good backing plates and use them with the diff that you want. Only 4 bolts per side, then the diff bolts. Done.

Just pop the cable off the lever arm at each wheel. You have to get the pin out though. That can be a bitch.
