best place to buy a speedometer cable?
I searched and found several suggestions but either could not locate the product on the site or the site was outdated.
Anyone know where I can get a speedometer cable for a 1991 pickup (other than the dealer or course) If you could provide a link directly to the product that would be awesome... I suck at searching for parts.

Have you tried rockauto.com? They have speedometer cables for the 22RE 91 pickup here.
I ordered parking brake cables from these guys for my 88 pickup. The only thing that sucks is their international shipping (even to us Canucks) is a little on the expensive side, but in the end I still saved over $250. You should see what shipping + cost of the cable is vs. the cost of the cable from the dealership.

Try partsource.ca, their lookup shows they have a listing for cables but you might have to locate a store near you and call to find out if they can get it.

Ok... So I fixed this today. Bought the cable from NAPA... the quality was fine. I just took all the rubber off the stock one and added it to the new one. Also, others have posted problems getting the cable through the floor... was easy for me.. steps below:
1. Remove the plastic head off the new cable
2. Remove plastic head off old cable
3. Push the new cable through the grommet and reattached the stock plastic head.
note: The stock one doesn't want to release the cable.. just pull hard and it will break inside then use a screwdriver to push out the washers and plastic pieces. The new one fits in... a little glue and it is done.
